Brandnew video with #KendaHeroes Tom Oehler & Ryan Leech
Crux Reunion - Commemorating the 10 year anniversary of the mountain bike trials film “Crux”, mountain bike pioneers Tom Oehler and Ryan Leech reunite for a 10 day road trip through Europe and a sequel to the original film.
In 2007, #KendaHeroes Tom Oehler and Ryan Leech teamed up to film "Crux", in which the two trial pros showcased their skills and technique. A decade later, they meet again for a different kind of reunion: A road trip from Barcelona to Austria, equipped with a trailer, roof tent and two mountain bikes, should bring them from one unique riding spot to the next. Taking on the urban jungles of Barcelona and Innsbruck, the back country of Montpellier and the signature trails of Riva del Garda, Tom and Ryan fill Crux 2 with their passion for bikes.
Tom Oehler: After a career in competing and a BikeTrial World Champs title, the Austrian looked for a new challenge, which he found on the mountain bike. Although still touring with his street trial bike show, he's also made a name of himself with technical riding in alpine territory.
Ryan Leech: Ryan started his career more than 20 years ago on the trial bike and was featured in major mountain bike films such as New World Disorder. Applying his skills to the trail, Ryan is known as one of North America's most influential skills instructors and runs his own online riding technique school "Ryan Leech Connection".
Ryan and Tom's tires of choice for the trip were the Hellkat and Helldiver. Equipped with the Advanced Gravity Casing, the tires offer a sturdy casing and tacky dual compound that both riders trust in for challenging riding.
"Getting together for this trip was really a great time. Hanging out with some old friends and having some great rides, I mean, riding for a living is really a great gift, a gift I'm thankful for every day." - Ryan Leech
"After 2000km on the road we're finally back in Innsbruck - the best city in the world - my hometown. It was great to show Ryan some of the good old spots we used for Crux and in ten years the perspective totally changed." - Tom Öhler
