Guillaume Boivin won his first Canadian road race championship in St. Georges, Quebec, storming to victory in his home province from a group of 12 riders after 185 km of racing. The final selection, whittled down greatly after four and a half hours on a grueling course, included Ryan Anderson, who finished second in the charge to the line, and Mike Woods, who finished 8th.
“It’s an incredible feeling. We rode a perfect race today – people who don’t believe cycling is a team sport should watch how we executed together to get this win,” said Boivin. “Having confidence in each other allowed us play our cards exactly how we wanted. I can’t thank the guys and staff enough for this amazing day!”
